Banner (live 3), Slayer

One of “The Big Four” (alongside Metallica, Megadeath and Anthrax) Slayer is known as one of the figureheads of the thrash-metal genre. Later inspiring death and black metal, it’s no surprise that this fixture has a whole day celebrating their music and influence.

The Top Hat will be observing the holiday with a special discount for fans purchasing two tickets to Slayer’s show at The KettleHouse Amphitheater on August 17th. Originally $103, pairs of GA lawn tickets will go for $86.66 (service fees included) from 6:06AM until Midnight MDT on June 6th. This is a steal, considering the legends are being joined by openers Lamb of God (listen) and Behemoth (listen); both modern-metal movers-and-shakers.

After the death of founding member Jeff Hanneman in 2013, the ensemble experienced lable and lineup changes. However, the group is back and ferocious as ever with a new album, Repentless. More information on the transition can be found here. More than discounted tickets, recommendations for celebration tactics in their full glory can be found on the official website for the holiday.

The band’s second time in Missoula also marks the 2nd annual Blaze Backyard BBQ, so fans should listen to 96.3 The Blaze for chances to win tickets, LPs and Digipacks.
