Logjam is very happy with the going green progress thus far! Between the Top Hat, The Wilma, and KettleHouse Amphitheater — food, cups, straws, plates, and more have been composted over the past 8 months. With the support of patrons, over 37,000 pounds of waste has been diverted from the landfill into Garden City Compost since January 2018. This is a significant contribution to Missoula’s Zero By Fifty goal of reducing waste by 90% by year 2050.
Sean Doty, owner of Missoula Compost Collection, spoke positively about their partnership with Logjam:

Nick Checota and his team are leading the way for Missoula to become a zero waste community and they’re showing that it’s not an impossible task. Their organized strategy to divert waste at their events is a model I hope other businesses in our community use, and I’m excited to see Logjam Presents manage large events at Ogren Park.”
Aside from composting, Logjam has been able to successfully implement a company wide recycling program, has stopped serving plastic straws with beverages, and began offering reusable Klean Kanteen water bottles and pint cups. Next up on the Going Green agenda is potentially switching from plastic water bottles, to aluminum cans, which are much easier to recycle. Stay tuned!
