Nick Checota, owner of Montana-based concert promoter Logjam Presents, announced the development of the Drift, a new $100 million entertainment complex that will include a 6,000 capacity indoor venue. The Drift will be situated on the banks of the iconic Clark Fork River in downtown Missoula, Montana, at the corner of Front & Orange, where the old Fox Theatre was once located. Logjam Presents will exclusively manage all events at the complex.
In addition to the state-of-the-art venue, the Drift will include a 200-room boutique-style hotel, approximately 10,000 square feet of additional event space, two restaurants, a 400-stall parking facility and a monumental riverfront promenade that runs along Missoula’s river trail system. The project will also include 45 residential condominium units.
The combination of a world-class concert and event center, an independent boutique hotel and best-in-class food offerings will create a full-service entertainment complex for both Missoulians and destination entertainment travelers. According to Logjam Owner and Entertainment Buyer Nick Checota, “We are expanding on Missoula’s growing reputation as a music destination in the Northwest. This development will offer both Montanans and destination concertgoers a one-stop entertainment complex where they can combine seeing their favorite artists with a trip to the recreation-rich mountain town of Missoula, Montana.”
“We see the Drift as a transformational project for Missoula and its downtown riverfront. The development not only establishes an entertainment civic center on the river, but will serve as an economic engine for all of downtown,” Checota said.
The development team plans to work through the design and construction preparation of the project over the next eight months, with the target start of construction during the summer of 2020.
