About Luke Dowler

Fresh off an East Coast tour in 2019, Northwest Montana artist, Luke Dowler, is planning 2 new releases within the year and a busy 2020 of touring to support the records.

The first to be released is EAST, the final of 4 EPs, in what he calls the Compass Project. Produced and mixed himself, the records, NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, and WEST, showcase Dowler’s versatility as a songwriter and performer. Songs like “Good Enough” and “Baby, We’re All Monsters” are tied together by a folk-rock thread, while “Halfway” and “College Towns” (written about Missoula, MT) showcase a modern blend of electronic and organic vibes.

Named by Paste Magazine as an artist to listen to now, Dowler’s music has been featured on HGTV, Without A Trace, Heartland and many other indie films. Because of his versatility, Dowler has also been hired to compose for film and documentaries “Finding Faeries, 2016; The Forlorned, 2017; Afterlight, 2018).

The son of a midwest Marine, he spent his formative years traveling the globe carrying a guitar. Dowler has toured the US, Australia, Europe, and Canada playing cafes, clubs, festivals or anyone who would listen, opening for artists like Noah Gunderson, Rick Springfield, Los Lonely Boys, and Switchfoot. Signing on with an imprint of EMI Records in 2012, Dowler released his first solo record, Polarized, a collection of authentic rock and roll songs that was likened to artists like Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, and even Bob Marley. After touring in support of the record, Dowler parted ways with his label due to creative differences. He then began a song a week release that turned into the Compass Project.

Recently, Dowler began working on new music with longtime Springsteen engineer and producer, Toby Scott. Look for the final release to the Compass Project, EAST, to be released Spring of 2019 and soon followed up with a full album winter of 2020.
