Montana World Affairs Council Benefit

About The Benefit

The Montana World Affairs Council is proud to present a Benefit Concert to support Global Education Initiatives for Montana Youth.  The benefit event on Sunday, March 3rd, features the Mission Mountain Wood Band in a rare reunion concert.  It is one of Montana’s most popular, world-renowned home-grown bands, and we are thrilled to have them all together for one night, giving us a show like few others can.

It’s all for a great cause — global education, awareness, and understanding through programs that reach schools, classrooms and communities across the state.  This event also comes on the eve of the Montana World Affairs Council’s signature education event called Academic WorldQuest.

This is when 300-plus students from across Montana along with their teachers, principals and other educators, will be in Missoula for this annual, global trivia competition, an event that brings students together with global affairs experts from all over the world. They meet international students, ambassadors, diplomats, global experts, government leaders, and fellow young people from schools as far away as Wolf Point and Ekalaka, to many closer to home here in Missoula and Ravalli Counties.

About The Montana World Affairs Council

The Montana World Affairs Council is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, founded in 2000 by former Ambassador Mark Johnson, a Montana native.  The Council is dedicated to fostering global awareness and understanding in Montana’s classrooms and communities.  Our motto says it all – Bringing the World to Montana and Montana to the World.

Your support of this benefit concert will help us reach more young people, do more outreach, provide more scholarships and bring more vital global affairs experts and international programs to our classrooms all across the Big Sky state.  100% of the proceeds will help to support global education for our youth, with a special emphasis on young people who live rural, remote and on reservations.
