with Cork & Spark, Worst Feelings, and Phoenix Marshall

Cork & Spark

With roots growing deep in Missoula, Montana, CORK & SPARK is a musical experience, a revival of a bygone era. The catalyst for the band’s formation was a mutual respect and affinity for classic jazz, with tinges of soul and blues sprinkled in for good measure. CORK & SPARK swings, jives, and reverberates, drawing inspiration and influence from a diverse array of musical legends, ranging from Nina Simone to Billie Holiday, Sam Cooke to Patsy Cline, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe to Ella Fitzgerald.

The band’s members are stalwart, dyed in the wool students of sound with Jessi Trauth singing the truth, Milan House on keys, Jordan Demander strumming the bass, percussionist Pauly Donaldson driving the rhythm, and trombonist Naomi Siegel bringing the brass.

Worst Feelings

Worst Feelings is Nate Biehl, Caroline Keys, Jesse Hadden, Lukas Phelan, Jaimie Rogers and Nick Ryan. They play psychedelic country music.

Phoenix Marshall

Phoenix Marshall is it 13-year-old Missoula singer songwriter. She began writing songs when her Mom, Cindy Marshall cocreated and co-taught Girls Rock Camp at the ZACC in 2015 with Kia Liszak. During the camp, Phoenix was exposed to every instrument. She resisted playing guitar at first and now she is very grateful to the ZACC for pushing her to become confident in learning how to play. She has not stopped writing songs since and even formed her own band, The Telltale Hearts in 2016 which included all originals written by her. She has played the River city Roots Festival and most recently played the pre Pearl Jam show. She is presently playing solo and can be found playing guitar and singing in her room when sheʼs not making art or dancing with her competitive team at Roots Acrosports.
