Cosmic-Indie Pop: STRFKR hits Missoula with Vault Album Tour
Five albums deep, Portland synth-poppers known as STRFKR will play The Top Hat on June 29th. The date is part of the group’s tour for their vault release project, a 3-album saga of previously unreleased material.
Each album is comprised of “as is” songs that are intended to give fans a closer look into lead songwriter, Josh Hodges’, creative process. The material was rescued from the songwriter’s computer and contains mostly one or two minute snippets of unfinished songs (more info here).
Vault Vol. 1 is twenty songs; some of which come from 2007, before their last full length album. Released on vinyl, STRFKR intends audiences to better appreciate the musical evolution behind their previous four full-length releases. A lot of the material is simply guitar and keyboard accompanying Hodges in a demo style.

The group sold out The Top Hat last summer. Those who were there will recall a high-energy performance filled with exciting lighting, weird dancing, and even weirder costuming. They are great for fans of Psychic Twin, Ra Ra Riot, and Glass Animals
A Portland brand of out-there, performances have been labeled as “out of this world,” so be ready to dance off into the indie-synth stratosphere
