Though the quartet’s sound varies from album to album, but the perpetual element found in the group’s releases is their over-all musicianship. The most recent release, an EP entitled Negative Slant, exudes a folkier inflection to their breakthrough 2005 album, The Greatest White Liar (listen below).

The live ensemble is headed by Armstrong on vocals, guitar and harmonica. Accompanying the frontman are Thieves: Jonny Aitken (drums); Shane Lawlor (bass); and Glynn Wedgewood (guitar). In a short interview, Armstrong revealed that his favorite concert experience has yet to happen…

“I love playing live so much that my favorite concert experience is the one that is about to happen.”

Their music pays homage to British invasion bands like The Beatles and The Kinks, as well as British mod groups like Faces and The Monkeys. A concept twist lies in what parts of the sonic composition are pulled from which influences. The result is a vintage sounding, up-beat, bluesy character that has been turning heads in the world of rock n roll.

In addition to being FREE, the unit will bring a pre-psychedelic rock n’ roll energy to the hat, not to be missed. More information on the event can be found here.
