Andrea Harsell & Luna Roja Will Play FREE Show This Saturday

Andrea Harsell & Luna Roja will return to The Top Hat for a free show on Saturday, July 1st. Andrea Harsell has been playing the local scene with various projects for around 20 years. The recent project, under the name Luna Roja, performed a successful debut at The Top Hat in April.

Andrea is vocally inspired by the likes of Allison Krauss and Blondie, but her grit on stage eminates the influence of blues-queen, Janis Joplin. Harsell has performed with “Deep River, Hal Ketchum, Bill Kreutzmann of the Grateful Dead, and—fittingly— Big Brother and the Holding Company.”

Her inimitable chops guide the group, flitting from a pop-inflection (Sia/ Gwen Stefani) to a more bluesy growl (Gin Wigmore). Solo projects from the singer’s past have garnered much local praise (see individual bio)

“She is exceptional…bound for the top.” -Tony Ravioli (The Trail 103.3)

“(she has some of the) best songwriting to be heard in town.” -The Missoula Independent

Andrea has been playing with the current lineup for less than a year, but the group jives as if it’s been decades. Luna Roja consists of drummer Antonio Alvarez, guitarist Nick Hamburg, and bassist Michael Rhead. A combination resulting in a seamless mix Americana, blues, r&b, and rock ‘n’ roll  to accompany Harsell’s standout vocals and powerful songwriting.
