Dissecting the Dish: Unwrapping the Ginger Pork Lettuce Wraps

Headlining on the new menu are the dynamic and well-rounded Ginger Pork Lettuce Wraps. A staff favorite, the dish presents fresh, bold flavors with an Asian Twist. The wraps are both dairy and gluten free, standing as a satisfying way to get through the day or night.

Preparation starts with sauteing the ginger, mushrooms and onions until their flavors start to release, eventually adding the pork to the mix. By using Montana raised pigs, processed by local butchers, the freshness is untouchable. The gingery-kick is complemented by the gluten-free, soy-ginger sauce; added towards the end of the cooking process, so it caramelizes on the pork.

To allow for a personalized balance of flavor, the wraps are served deconstructed. The house-pickled red onion and radishes, the cashews, the shredded carrot and granny smith apple slices are served separately from leaves of butter lettuce and the pork. In the end, it’s up to you to determine the appropriate garnish to pork ratio. Easy-to-share, everyone can tailor their wrap to their tastes.  The dish serves as a filling and healthy meal for one, for those less willing to share.

A chef favorite, Metzger has been cooking variations on the wraps for years. He has labeled the current variation as his favorite and recommends it be eaten with a light, fresh drink like the new “Barracuda” spring cocktail. Cap off a successful day or prepare for a night downtown with something from The Top Hat’s new spring menu. Keep an eye open for more behind-the-scenes features on new menu items coming soon.
