Brass House: Too Many Zooz will Open for Moon Taxi

Straight off of the streets of New York City, Brass-House outfit Too Many Zooz has just been announced as support for Moon Taxi at The Wilma on Saturday, Oct 7th. The group began as buskers, but has burst into the mainstream when a video of them getting groovy in the subway went viral on reddit, garnering 2.2 million views.

Of a similar breath to GRiZ and Moon Hooch, these talented players sample live saxophone, drums and horns over an electronic beat. The musical result is a funky, up-beat fusion that even stole Beyoncé’s attention. The superstar featured the trio on “Daddy Lessons” (watch live performance below) as well as Formation, off of her most recent album, Lemonade.

Fun Fact: Too Many Zooz was named in Billboard’s Top 25 Next Big Sound List

Too Many Zooz is touring off of their most recent release Subway Gawdz, which was released a year ago on their independent label. Combining funk to jazz to hip-hop to EDM, the innovators originally struggled to book NYC clubs due to genre restrictions. However, their powerful instrumentals, smooth dance moves and overall energy managed to pull 400 person crowds in the subway.

Don’t miss this funky powerhouse opening for Moon Taxi on October 7th at The Wilma. More information on the event and artist can be found on the event page. Tickets are available online, over the phone at (877) 987-6487, or at The Top Hat‘s box office in downtown Missoula.
