Pure Rock: Brother Roy Added As Support For Sarah Jarosz

Brother Roy will now be opening for Sarah Jarosz at The Wilma on Friday, Sept 29th. Roy proudly represents his own concept of  Rock ‘n’ Roll purism as a gruff crooner on an old battered piano.

Roy’s video, “Crazy Bill Story” (above), is part of a new series of videos to promote his most recent album Last Man Standing. Each video reveals a story behind characters that he sings about. Combining “refreshingly honest” narration, organ, and a powerful triad of horn, string, and rhythm sections, he creates a full traditional-rock sound.

Following the path towards enlightenment at an ashram in India; an “All-American” Pennsylvanian childhood; a broke musician in Brooklyn: each moment in Roy’s life provides more stories to write. His experiences trickle through in the characters of Last Man Standing. Furthermore edgier rock ‘n’ roll will provide an excellent contrast to Sarah Jarosz’s Grammy-winning Americana.

Tickets are still available online, over the phone at (877) 987-6487, or at The Top Hat’s box office in downtown Missoula. RSVP to the Facebook event page to join the conversation and check for low-ticket warnings.
