Halloween Show: Kitchen Dwellers & Horseshoes and Hand Grenades at The Top Hat
On Tuesday, Oct 31st Kitchen Dwellers & Horseshoes and Hand Grenades will play a Halloween show at The Top Hat. The two bluegrass-based bands are co-headlining the venue for an evening of celebration and dancing. Cascade Crescendo will open the evening with their high-energy, jam-based bluegrass.

Kitchen Dwellers
Bozeman-based bluegrass quartet, the Kitchen Dwellers, have rocked The Top Hat many times before. However, most recently, the ensemble opened for JJ Grey & Mofro at The Wilma.
Their sophomore release, Ghost in a Bottle, was released in April 2017. The jam oriented album, dubbed “Galaxy Grass,” was produced by Andy Thorn (Leftover Salmon). The sub-genre is full of energy and opportunities to get a little weird. Sharing the stage with names like Railroad Earth, Greensky Bluegrass, and The Infamous Stringdusters has fueled the units steady rise to popularity.
Horseshoes and Hand Grenades
Horseshoes and Hand Grenades is comprised of five Wisconsin friends who root their music in the genres of bluegrass, old-time, and folk. What started as a post-party conversation and jam turned into an award-winning bluegrass quintet. The ensemble is currently working on a new album with expected release in 2017.
The Halloween show won’t be Horseshoes and Hand Grenades’ first rodeo in Missoula. Most recently, the group headlined the Top Hat in March. The same evening, Greensky Bluegrass was headlining The Wilma. The bluegrass-heavyweights invited Horseshoes and Hand Grenades over for a quick acapella to open for their fiery performance.
