SUPPORT ANNOUNCED: Punk Jazz Outfit Mike Dillon Band Will Open for Dean Ween Group

The percussion-virtuoso-led Mike Dillon Band has been confirmed as support for the Dean Ween Group at the Top Hat on July 7th.

Traveled musician Mike Dillon has performed with a plethora of artists including Les Claypool, Primus, Rickie Lee Jones, Karl Denson, and many others. He’s led several bands including Mike Dillon’s New Orleans Punk Rock Percussion Consortium, Billy Goat and Hairy Apes BMX to name a few.

The current lineup of the Mike Dillon Band consists of guitarist Cliff Hines, Bassist Nathan Lambertson and a rotating cast of drummers including Claude Coleman Jr. (Ween), Simon Lott, G. Maxwell, Doug Belote and Paul Thibodeaux. In 2016, the Gambit’s Big Easy Awards named Mike Dillon “Performer of the Year” and the Mike Dillon Band “Best Punk/Metal Band” in New Orleans.

Released early 2017, the Mike Dillon Band’s latest release Life is not a Football continues to explore the diverse musical stylings of New Orleans street beats, ska, funk, hardcore, and jazz.
