LISTEN: Rebelution Releases New Album “Free Rein”

Santa Barabara-based reggae rockers Rebelution have just released their new album Free Rein.

The 12-song project is their seventh full length studio album and is the follow up to their Grammy nominated LP Falling Into Place. Free Rein is certainly a reggae centric album, but also includes several songs that expand beyond the band’s most perused genre.

“Take on Anything,” “Healing,” “Trap Door,” and the album closer “Constellation” all veer away from the skanky rhythms present throughout the rest of the album. In sharp contrast, “Legend,” “Rise on Top” “More Energy” and the previously released single “Patience” all incorporate the familiar dub rock qualities longtime Reb fans have grown to love.
