Middle Eastern Chefs Bring Special Cuisine to the Top Hat

On September 16, 2018, the Top Hat will team up with Soft Landing Missoula for a very special United We Eat Supper Club, featuring Middle Eastern Cuisine made by 3 Missoula families from Iraq and Syria. The event is part of Welcoming Week, an annual series of events where communities bring together immigrants, refugees, and native-born residents to raise awareness of the benefits of welcoming everyone and celebrating diversity.

A three course family-style dinner featuring food from Iraq and Syria will be served alongside your favorite beverages, including Imagine Nation’s limited edition TOGETHER Global Pale Ale, brewed exclusively for Soft Landing Missoula.

Once named as the “Fertile Crescent, The Middle East offers a distinct flavor of freshness, and is notorious for the use of spices, meats, and vegetables. Such meals include slow cooked meats simmered in cumin, cinnamon, turmeric, and cardamom. The ancient region is well known for its hospitality and generosity, especially when it comes to sharing a delicious meal.

Top Hat’s head chef, Billy Metzger, is excited to collaborate with the other chefs, saying:

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to cook alongside refugees bringing a little of their culture and cuisine to the Top Hat for this community event.  It will be a night filled with delicious food and drinks. Sharing food together is a beautiful way to bring people together and welcome them to Missoula.”
