The new single “Movin’ On” comes off their forthcoming second album Greenhouse. Lead singer Jon Schumaker talks about the track saying:
“This song came from the need and desire to keep moving and growing; Be it moving forward emotionally or spiritually, to growing in ones skills and abilities. Just making use of the time given to us and hopefully doing it well. Whatever “it” may be, just setting your eyes on something and moving towards it. Moving on past anything that tries to hold you back but still having the good sense to stop and see how beautiful everything is on the way.”
Greenhouse, the follow up to 2011’s Smoke Signals, has been a long time coming. It’s truly the culmination of years of creativity and hard work.
Patrons at the concert on Oct. 26th should feel encouraged to dress up in a “Woods” themed costume, as the show falls the weekend before Halloween. Exactly what “Woods” means is up for interpretation, so just have fun and wear it proud!
About Off in the Woods
The four original members, Jon Schumaker (guitar/vox/bass), Nathan Noble (drums/percussion), Layne McKay (sax/guitar) and Sean Burress (bass/guitar) grew up playing music together in Polson, MT. Just recently, they’ve added Kyle Daugherty (trombone), Kai Salmonson (percussion), and Kia Adibzadeh (keys).
Not bound to one genre, OITW can be heard bouncing from reggae to funk to Americana. During live performances, the band will mix things up by switching instruments, which their audiences have always loved. The band puts it best saying “We just want to bring something fresh to the table and have fun doing it.”
