Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Neko Case just dropped the Official Music Video for “Last Lion of Albion” on November 1st.
The video features paper mache-esque animations made by artist, Laura Plankster. According to Spin Neko Case spoke about Plankster saying “she’s so skilled at using handmade figures and props to create surreal worlds. Her work perfectly balances humor and darkness in a way that breaks my heart. She has a way of making something so artificial so very alive. The turning of the lion’s head to look at the sky, or its own reflection makes me cry my eyes out. There is so much straight ahead compassion in Laura’s work, there’s no need to manipulate emotion of the viewer, it is the perfect balance.”
The “Last Lion of Albion” is the second song off Case’s newest album Hell On, which was released on June 1, 2018. It’s her first album since 2013’s The Worse Things Get, the Harder I Fight, the Harder I Fight, the More I Love You.
Montana concertgoers can hear songs from the new LP played live as Neko Case performs at The Wilma with Destroyer on Nov. 27th.
