YMSB formed in 1998 and released their first album Elevation in 1999. Throughout the past two decades they’ve released 12 albums with two coming in 2017 — Mountain Tracks, Vol. 6, followed by Love. Ain’t Love. The latter is a testament to Yonder Mountain String Band’s organic, dynamic, and intensely personal brand of contemporary bluegrass-fueled Americana. Speaking about Love. Ain’t Love., guitarist Adam Aijala said “I think this is our best album yet.”
Yonder has developed a strong following for their lively, improvisational concerts. Check out photos from a couple of YMSB’s past Missoula performances here.
Hailing from Fayetteville, AR, Handmade Moments consists of Anna Moss and Joel Ludford. They released their debut, self titled album in 2014, followed by Eye in the Sky in 2015, and their newest Paw Paw Tree in May of 2018. Not easily described, their music pulls from many genres — “jazz, old-time country, blues, soul, hip-hop, rock, (and it don’t stop).” – Matthew Souzis
