The Boston-based quartet released their first full length album Pilot Machines in 2012, followed by 2015’s critically acclaimed LP Birds Say. Glide Magazine gave Birds Say 8 out of 10 stars, noting the album was  “built around the quartet’s gorgeous vocals and innovative use of string instruments” and said they “crafted a collection of songs that you’ll find yourself going back to again and again, discovering something new with each listen.” Darlingside released their EP Whippoorwill in 2016.

In February of 2018, Darlingside dropped their third full length album Extralife. Continuing to display their signature harmonies, Extralife is about invention, expansion, and elevating everything into the realm of the extraordinary both conceptually and through musical performance. PopMatters gave Extralife 9 out of 10 stars saying “it’s an oddly beautiful record, comfortable in its unsettling contemplations and rapturous.”

“A ‘must-see’ act…locomotive folk-pop confections so richly executed it’s hard to tell if it’s one voice or 12” – Rolling Stone

“…exquisitely-arranged, literary-minded, baroque folk-pop…” – NPR
