Montana’s Cold Hard Cash Live on Letterman
Did you know that, The Cold Hard Cash Show played on the Late Show with David Letterman?
It’s true… 10 years ago on November 18, 2008, “The World’s Finest Tribute to Johnny Cash” performed The Man in Black’s famed song “Folsom Prison Blues” to millions of viewers.
As the story goes, David Letterman saw The Cold Hard Cash Show when they performed in Choteau, MT, which is near Letterman’s 2700-acre “Deep Creek Ranch” in Saypo. Letterman enjoyed the concert so much that he offered them a gig on his show and the rest is history.
The band featured frontman and Great Falls native Merle Travis Peterson and drummer Fel Torres. A decade later and both of them are still touring the country paying tribute to Johnny Cash, along with their current bassist, John Sporman.
The longtime Montana favorites are a can’t miss show, and will be closing out 2018 with a concert at The Wilma in Missoula on Saturday, December 29th. Details here.
