Platinum Selling Classic Country: Nitty Gritty Dirt Band to Headline Missoula Concert

Longstanding influential country rock group Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will perform live in concert at The Wilma on Saturday, August 24, 2019.

Since their inception more than 50 years ago, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has accumulated a laundry list of accolades, including multi-platinum and gold certifications, multiple Grammy, IBMA, CMA awards and nominations, and several top 10 hits like “Fishin’ In The Dark” and “Mr. Bojangles.”

Their groundbreaking 1972 release Will The Circle Be Unbroken has been inducted into the U.S. Library of Congress as well as the Grammy Hall of Fame. NGDB’s recording of “Mr. Bojangles” was also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2010. In 2014 “Fishin’ In the Dark” was certified platinum for digital downloads by the RIAA and in 2016 their concert film airing on PBS, “Circlin’ Back – Celebrating 50 Years” won an Emmy Award for Special Event Coverage.

Today, NGDB (Jeff Hanna, Jimmie Fadden, Bob Carpenter) continue into their 5th decade of non-stop touring. Joining them on stage are musicians, Jaime Hanna, Jim Photoglo and Ross Holmes. Recent tour stops have included Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Stagecoach, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival and many more.
