Missoula Rock n’ Roll Band Jackson Holte & the Highway Patrol Will Open for Reckless Kelly

Jackson Holte (guitar/vocals) formed the band in 2017, with fellow bar-band vets Marko “The Midnight Shadow” Capoferri (bass), Tyson Gerhardt (guitar), and Brian Tremper (drums).

ISSUES magazine described them as “a lo-fi, indy rock version of the great Americana music of the 1970s.” If the band’s music seems retrospective, it may be because Holte once picked up a copy of For the Sake of the Song and learned from Mickey Newbury’s liner notes that “a writer’s tools are truths, and truth doesn’t change all that much.” With a firm grounding in America’s folk traditions, the band is able to bound across genres in a colorful and authentic style. They draw influences from some of the greats, including The Band, Guy Clark, Bonnie Raitt, Muddy Waters, and Billie Joe Shaver.

The band plans on gigging hard in 2019 and is working on branching out across the Northwest. If opening for Reckless Kelly is a sign for things to come, then it looks like Jackson and gang have a bright year ahead of them.
