Folk Punk Rock: AJJ to Perform Headlining Missoula Concert

Phoenix-based folk punk band AJJ will make their way to Missoula for a headlining concert at the Top Hat on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Antarctigo Vepucci and Lisa Prank will perform opening sets.

Formed in 2004, the band released their debut album, Candy Cigarettes & Cap Guns, in 2005. The following year, they played at the New Times Music Showcase, where they were nominated for Best Americana Band, and won a Best of Phoenix award later that year.

2007 saw them release People Who Can Eat People Are the Luckiest People in the World, possibly the band’s most highly noted LP. They celebrated the 10 year anniversary of the album in 2017 with more than 50 sold out shows across the US, Canada, and Europe.

In total, they’ve released 6 studio albums, 6 live albums, and a plethora of EPs and compilations. AJJ is noted for their lyrics which revolve around such topics as existentialism, politics, and religion to name a few.
