Gary Clark Jr. Explores Genres on New Album ‘This Land’

Grammy award winning guitarist, Gary Clark Jr., just released his new album, This Land, on February 22, 2019 (listen below).

This is Clark’s third full length studio album — his first since 2015’s The Story of Sonny Boy Slim, although he did release Live North America 2016, in 2017.

The sizable album is 17 tracks long with a running time of over an hour and ten minutes. It allows for Clark to further explore other genres, such as hip hop, R&B, and reggae, while still holding down a solid foundation of blues inspired rock throughout the album.

Glide Magazine already called the album Clark’s “Career Best.” Rock Cellar Magazine said “This Land Packs an Emotional Punch That Will Stick With You,” further stating, “If you weren’t already a big fan of his, this record will likely make one of you — few contemporary artists seem as able to tap into their influences and pull from as strong a natural ability as his, and it makes for some killer music.”

New and old fans alike will be in for a treat when Gary Clark Jr. makes his first appearance at KettleHouse Amphitheater for a live concert on Sunday, September 8, 2019. Details here.
