Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs Drop New Album and Confirm Support Slot for Town Mountain

It’s a big day for Bozeman’s stompgrass folk band Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs. They just dropped their brand new album, Sweet Little Lies and have confirmed an opening performance for Town Mountain at the Top Hat on August 7, 2019.

Sweet Little Lies is the band’s third album and is their followup to 2017’s, The Vigilante Session. The new 11-track LP features two previously released singles, “Carolina” and “Time or Tears.”

The album was recorded at Prairie Sun Recording in Cotati, CA, produced and engineered by Brad Dollar, and mastered by David Glasser.

The band funded the album through a Kickstarter campaign in November 2018. Guitarist and vocalist, Lena “Laney” Schiffer, said that they’re very thankful to their fans, adding “We were able to pick a top notch recording studio and an incredible engineer and producer, as well as fund the travel to and from CA, and all of the production involved. We are truly grateful to everyone who contributed. We’re very excited to be releasing these songs to the public on May 3rd!”

It’s looking to be Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs best year yet. Besides the new album and the opening slot ahead of Town Mountain, they’ll also be headlining Missoula’s River City Roots Fest Afterparty at the Top Hat on Saturday, August 24, 2019.
