Steven Ellison, professionally known by Flying Lotus, has produced five albums since his 2006 debut 1983. His last album, You’re Dead!, came out in 2014 and included the song “Never Catch Me” featuring Kendrick Lamar. The song was nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 58th Grammy Awards. The Guaradian gave the album 5 out of 5 stars, calling it “a brilliant, wide-eyed dream of an album.”
FlyLo is now gearing up for the release of his first album in five years. The new LP, Flamagra, is due out May 24 via Warp Records. FlyLo recently teased the album with a mysterious video/single called “Fire Is Coming” featuring David Lynch.
Rolling Stone chatted with Ryan Pardeiro of 3D Live about the special visual production that will take place at the Flying Lotus concert. “No show is the same: he doesn’t always play the same songs and we don’t play the same visuals,” Ryan said. “We’re all working together in an improvisational way with each show.”
