Indie Rock Giant Vampire Weekend Look Ahead to Montana for Concert in 2020
Grammy award winning indie rock band Vampire Weekend have confirmed a concert at KettleHouse Amphitheater for August 12, 2020. Since the 2019 season is winding down, we thought you might want something to look forward to!

The band formed in NYC around 2006 by vocalist/guitarist Ezra Koenig, multi-instrumentalist Rostam Batmanglij, drummer Chris Tomson, and bassist Chris Baio. They released their self titled debut album in 2008. It included the hit singles “A-Punk” and “Oxford Coma” and has since been certified Platinum. Pitchfork gave the album high-praise and described the “Afro-pop- and preppy-inflected debut” as “simple, jaunty, homespun, and– like the early albums from fellow fast-risers Belle & Sebastian and the Strokes were on their release– one of the most refreshing and replayable indie records in recent years.”
Their 2010 sophomore effort, Contra, hit #1 on the Billboard 200 and has been certified Gold. It also received a Grammy nomination for “Best Alternative Music Album” and it landed #6 on Rolling Stone‘s list of the “30 Best Albums of 2010.”
Again, they were met with widespread critical acclaim when they released 2013’s Modern Vampires of the City. The album reached #1 on the Billboard 200, was certified Gold, won a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. The Independent said it was the band’s “most cohesive and convincing effort yet.” Slant Magazine said the album was “immediately potent on a purely visceral level” …. “striking a perfect balance that makes for what’s perhaps the best album of the year.”
Vampire Weekend’s fourth and most recent album Father of the Bride was released May 2019 on Columbia Records. It’s the third consecutive album to debut a#1 on the Billboard 200. The Guardian said the album represented “a band pushing past their boundaries with striking results.”
