Black Lips Release “Odelia,” New Mixtape, and Announce New Album
Posted | Featured, Live Music, Music Release, The Top Hat.
Punk-tinged garage rockers, the Black Lips, have just released their new single “Odelia.” The track will also land on the band’s ninth studio album — slated to drop in 2020 on Fire Records.
This will be the eccentric, Atlanta-based rockers first album since 2017’s Satan’s graffiti or God’s art?, which The Quietus called “daring, exploratory and downright vital.”
Black Lips have also dropped their brand new mixtape — “Come to Our Country” — a compilation of unheard home studio recorded offcuts and unreleased music, both old and new.
You can stream it below, but if you really want to treat yourself, you should come to the Top Hat on Friday, Oct. 18th to see Black Lips’ legendary live show up close and personal. These guys don’t come to Montana often, so don’t miss it! Details here.
“What Black Lips do so well is tease the horror out of wholesomeness and recast golden-age rock’n’roll in a strange, discomforting light” – Pitchfork
