Locally Sourced Music: A Brief Look at Montana Made Musicians
Onlookers from other states might not think of Montana as having much of a music scene, especially a local one. But if you’ve lived around the area, you know it to be quite the opposite.
Places like Missoula, Bozeman and Billings are hot spots for local music, not to mention the plethora of other artists scattered throughout the Big Sky state. Luckily for us at Logjam, we’ve had the pleasure to work with a ton of Montana musicians.
If you want to, you can see local music just about every week at the Top Hat. Between Jazz Nights, Acoustic Avenues, Family Friendly Fridays and other weekend shows, the Hat has plenty of local music.
Then, you add in “local support” and you can see Montana musicians opening for nationally touring artists at nearly all the Logjam venues, including the Wilma, Rialto, KettleHouse Amphitheater and again, the Top Hat. In the coming years, we imagine Ogren Park will even host a local act or two, and of course the ELM in Bozeman will feature local artists too… stay tuned!
