Friday, February 7th & Saturday, February 8th
Nobide at the Top Hat & the Rialto

The three-piece is comprised of Nick Vann, Matt McElwain, and Tanner Fruit. Montanan’s may recognize that third name, as Tanner’s saxophone playing has been a staple of the Missoula music scene since 2o12 with his other band Shakewell. He’s also played in the spinoff project, Shark Buffalo, and has collaborated with several other band’s over the years.

Tanner’s affinity for jazz is paired with Nick’s edgy production and Matt’s driving rhythms to create rowdy dance tunes along with deep sonic explorations. Nobide’s far-reaching, genre-bending style isn’t easy to categorize. Setting traditional instruments amid an electronic backdrop, the Nobide sound may be best described as “Organic Electronic.”

Brother Ali at the Rialto & the Top Hat

Over the past 17 years, Brother Ali has earned wide critical acclaim for his deeply personal, socially conscious, and inspiring brand of hip-hop. Under Rhymesayers Entertainment, he’s unleashed a series of lauded projects, establishing himself as one of the most respected independent voices in music. In 2017, he released All the Beauty in This Whole Life, a 15-track collection produced entirely by Atmosphere’s Anthony “Ant” Davis.

Most recently, Ali dropped Secrets & Escapes, his 7th full-length via Rhymesayers. According to Ali’s Bandcamp, the album was recorded “in a Venice garage with no regard for pleasing the internet or competing with the music industry.” That might be the best way to describe Ali’s overall style.

Monday, February 10th & Tuesday, February 11th
Magic City Hippies at the Rialto & the Top Hat

Once a one-man-band playing on the streets of Miami, Robby Hunter eventually enlisted the support of multi-instrumentalists Pat Howard (drums) and John Coughlin (guitar). The trio dubbed themselves Robby Hunter Band and released a self-produced, widely acclaimed debut LP in 2013 entitled Magic City Hippies. Encouraged by the international reach and positive reception of their debut, they decided to expand their sound and approach under the better-fitting moniker Magic City Hippies.

In 2015, the Magic City Hippies released the Hippie Castle EP, with the lead-off track “Fanfare” hitting #1 on both Spotify’s Global Viral Top 50 and Hype Machineʼs popular chart. The EP has accumulated over 10 million Spotify streams to date. In August of 2019, they released their debut album, Modern Animal, that’s filled with irresistible Tame Impala rhythm and a safari of synthesizers.

Minnesota at the Rialto & the Top Hat

Christian Bauhofer, known by his fans as his party-crushing alter ego Minnesota, is one of the most innovative and proficient electronic producers to come out of the West Coast bass music movement. His sound breaks away from the various subgenres of EDM but holds onto origins of dubstep and hip-hop, creating a truly authentic experience for his audience.

His music has been lauded by the likes of Bassnectar, Adventure Club, Paper Diamond and many others in his genre. Discussing Minnesota’s track “Push It,” Bassnectar once commented, “[It’s] quickly becoming a staple in my sets,” and “perfect for when I need a track that is epic and churning but also melodically hyped.” The support of Minnesota’s management team, agency, and some of the world’s greatest artists can only attribute to his hunger for more time spent on the road and in the studio.
