Dodgy Mountain Men at the Top Hat
Dodgy Mountain Men sling a home-brewed Montana stompgrass that goes down smooth but packs a bite, mixing the rhythms of bluegrass, the soul of the blues and the energy of rock ‘n’ roll with a plethora of other musical traditions to create a unique electro-acoustic experience.
The group’s genre-bending experimentation and passion for American roots traditions weave together to emphasize their lyrical storytelling, creating a musical frontier rife with empty mason jars, outlaws, gypsy women and cold Montana storms. Add three distinct frontmen, a pension for sonic exploration and live performances that build to a fever pitch, and you’ve got a concoction that will make moonshiners proud and compel dancers to wear out the soles of their shoes.

Lyle Lovett and his Acoustic Group at the Wilma
In the past four years, Lyle Lovett has had a prolific touring schedule around Missoula — with most of his shows selling out in near record time. In 2016, he performed at the Wilma with his good friend Robert Earl Keen and returned the following year with his Large Band to play the grand opening of the KettleHouse Amphitheater on July 13, 2017. In 2018, he came back with REK to the Wilma, and earlier in 2019, he performed at the Wilma with fellow Grammy nominee, John Hiatt and again at KettleHouse with His Large Band.
It seems like Montana has a special affinity for the “Cowboy Man,” one that is certainly shared by Lyle himself. He’s frequently noted his love for the Logjam concerts at the Wilma and KettleHouse Amphitheater. It’s no surprise that he continues to sell out each performance. Since his self-titled debut in 1986, Lyle Lovett has won four Grammy Awards, he was given the Americana Music Association’s inaugural Trailblazer Award, was named Texas State Musician, and has released 14 albums.
