New Music Releases from July 2021 (LISTEN)

Live music is back in full force and the new music keeps coming! Lets take a look at a few of the new music highlights from July before we look forward to seeing these artists tour through Montana.

Molly Burch - 'Romantic Images'

Singer-songwriter Molly Burch just released her third full length album, Romantic Images. Clash Magazine says the project is “An emotive exploration of the romantic films that she indulged on as a child and her experience with traversing relationships outside of the fantasies she was promised.” We’re sure we’ll be hearing a few of these new tracks when Burch opens for Tennis in Missoula and Bozeman.

Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats - 'Red Rocks 2020 (Live)'

Soul Americana powerhouse Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats haven’t exactly released new music, but they did put out a new Red Rocks 2020 (Live) record. It’s a great listen, and maybe the next best thing to seeing them actually perform live, but lets be honest… we’re chomping at the bit to see them back for another sold out show at the Amp this August!

Atmosphere - 'Word? - Side A'

Atmosphere dropped “Side A”, a collection of four songs from their forthcoming album Word?, which is scheduled to release October 8th. The Rhymesayers founders have been prolific as any hip hop duo, releasing 7 albums in the last decade. What really sets Atmosphere apart though, is their live show. Slug works the crowd as good as any rapper while Ant provides the sonic backdrop. Ask anyone who’s been to an Atmosphere show and they’ll tell you it’s one of the better live hiphop shows they’ve see. By the way, they’re playing their first show at KettleHouse Amphitheater this August, and they’re coheadlining with the legendary Cypress Hill. Need we say more?

Dirty Heads - 'The Best of Dirty Heads'

Alright so this isn’t necessarily new music, but Dirty Heads put together their first ‘Best of’ album which is packed with all their hits… and it does include two brand new songs. The new tracks are “Headspace” and “Rage”, the latter of which features Travis Barker and Aimee Interrupter. The Best of Dirty Heads is the ultimate collection of songs to gear you up for Dirty Heads coheadlining show with Sublime with Rome at the Amp this summer.

NEEDTOBREATHE - 'Into the Mystery'

Grammy nominated, alt rock band NEEDTOBREATHE released their highly awaited third album, and current tour namesake, Into The Mystery, on July 30th. It’s the followup to their critically acclaimed 2020 release, Out of Body. The new album was made when the group decamped to a historic house-turned-recording studio in remote Tennessee to work on new music during the height of Covid. There’s also a documentary coming out this fall that details the making of the record. NEEDTOBREATHE will hit the Amp for the first time this summer with Switchfoot and The New Respects.

Charlie Parr - 'Last of the Better Days Ahead'

Back with his 16th album, Last of the Better Days Ahead, Charlie Parr continues to put out honesty storytelling with his acoustic guitar backdrop. The new album’s spare production foregrounds Parr’s poetic lyricism, his expressive, gritty voice ringing clear over deft acoustic guitar playing that references folk and blues motifs in Parr’s own exploratory, idiosyncratic style. Fans will relish in the Parr experience when he hits Montana for two shows this fall.

Billy Strings - "Fire Line"

Red hot bluegrass prodigy Billy Strings dropped his latest single, “Fire Line”, which is coming off his forthcoming album Renewal. The new album will be released Sep. 24th… just a few days after Strings plays a sold out show at the Amp.
