1st Annual Black Friday w/ The Bird Dogs Announced at The ELM

Bozeman-based Americana rockers Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs are bringing a special evening of local music to The ELM on Friday, November 26, 2021. Dubbed Black Friday w/ the Bird Dogs, this event is one that the band hopes to have every year the day after Thanksgiving.

Many of us who call Bozeman home, but happen to live elsewhere, return to Bozeman to spend Thanksgiving with family. You eat turkey & that weird cranberry stuff, socialize, watch football, make pies and cozy up in the house. Then on Friday, you might go shopping, eat more turkey and continue to hang with the family. It’s great… you love it… but towards the end of the day, if you’re like us, you’re ready to get out and boogie! That’s what this concert is for. A post-Thanksgiving gathering to let loose, dance, enjoy some killer live local music and have a couple drinks with those other friends who are back home too.

If none of what we just talked about relates to you… that’s totally fine. Then this event is just a great excuse to head to The ELM to see Laney Lou and The Bird Dogs tear it up with their rippin’ blend of bluegrass, rock and folk music.

If you’re not familiar with Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs, let us introduce you to one of the finest 5-piece bands to come out of Montana. Since their start in 2013, they’ve played festivals all over the Northwest including Under the Big Sky Festival, Red Ants Pants Festival, River City Roots Festival, Grand Targhee Bluegrass Festival,  Northwest String Summit and many more. They’ve racked up a list of accolades including 5 Bozeman Choice Awards for Best Bluegrass Band. Their most recent album, Through The Smoke, came out in 2021. Americana UK said the album “expands their extensive repertoire with a collection of heartfelt, boozy, reflective, and barnstorming songs.”

So, what more do we need to say? Let’s party on Black Friday, November 26, 2021. Invite your friends. Bring the whole fam. Just please leave the leftovers at home.

About Laney Lou and The Bird Dogs

Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs are an energetic Americana band from Bozeman, Montana, that infuses four-part harmonies, engaging songwriting, and rock-n-roll drive into a modern approach to traditional folk music. Coming from varied musical backgrounds, the five-person ensemble creates a sound unique to them, but one that finds common ground by adding the energy of Montana’s big sky country into their music. Through it all, the band is able to convey heartfelt honesty, getting the audience to immerse themselves in the moment by dancing, singing and laughing along.

The Bird Dogs have been taking their infectious sound on the road since 2013, supporting acts such as The Travelin’ McCourys, The Steeldrivers, The Steep Canyon Rangers, The Jeff Austin Band, Amy Helm, Leftover Salmon, Town Mountain, and many more.
