Mystery Science Theater 3000 LIVE Lands in Missoula for the Time Bubble Tour

Bots, B-movies, and beyond funny commentary — The Mystery Science Theater 3000 LIVE will bring its Time Bubble Tour to The Wilma in Missoula on January 6, 2022.

Following the wildly successful “Watch Out for Snakes! Tour” in 2017, the “30th Anniversary Tour” in 2018, and “The Great Cheesy Movie Circus Tour” in 2019, Mystery Science Theater 3000 LIVE is launching the next all new production to hit the road! Join host Emily Connor (Emily Marsh) and the world’s greatest – and only – movie riffing robots, Tom Servo (Conor McGiffin), Crow (Nate Begle), and GPC (Yvonne Freese), as they take you on an exhilarating rollercoaster ride through the film Making Contact, imposed by Mad Scientist, Mega-Synthia (Yvonne Freese). Now you can sit in the same theater with your favorite characters and experience this long running comedy phenomenon in a universally-acclaimed LIVE event.

Making Contact (1985) is a horror film that references just about every Spielberg movie ever made, including notes of E.T., Poltergeist, The Goonies, Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and just a pinch of Lincoln. Featuring animated toys in an overcrowded childhood during the eighties, complete with an evil ventriloquist dummy, and heavily branded IP at almost every turn. You’ll have fun watching as Emily and the Bots try to make sense of it all. Shot on location in Germany.

More than anything, MST3K LIVE is a hilarious comedy. If you love Mystery Science Theater, you’ll love this live show. You might be totally confused, but you’ll love it.

About Mystery Science Theater 3000

Originally airing for 11 seasons from 1988 to 1999, Mystery Science Theater 3000 immediately won over fans and became one of the most beloved cult TV shows of all time, making a human mind experiment more entertaining than anyone could have predicted.

When Joel Robinson (played by show creator Joel Hodgson) is shot into space and forced to watch bad movies while mad scientist Dr. Clayton Forrester (Trace Beaulieau) and his crony, TV’s Frank (Frank Conniff), monitor his mind, Joel builds a cast of lovable robot sidekicks to help keep his sanity: Crow, Tom Servo, Gypsy and Cambot. It’s only through their wisecracks, quips and friendships that they make it through a barrage of increasingly terrible cinema–and the audience in turn gets a veritable treasure trove of gut-busting hilarity.

Later hosted by Mike Nelson and featuring a stellar cast of “Mads” and supporting characters, plus countless classic sketch segments highlighted by original songs, clever inventions, movie spoofs and more, MST3K skewered its way into the hearts of fans around the globe who recognized what making fun of cheesy movies looks like when elevated to high-art levels.
