Reggae on the Blackfoot River: Rebelution Will Return to Montana with Steel Pulse and DENM

Grammy nominated reggae rock band Rebelution will bring their Good Vibes Summer Tour 2022 to KettleHouse Amphitheater on August 25, 2022 with special guests Steel Pulse, DENM and DJ Mackle.

Santa Barbara-based Rebelution has been headlining festivals and playing to sold out crowds for over 15 years. Their 2016 release, Falling Into Place, received a Grammy nomination for “Best Reggae Album” and was their fourth release to top the Billboard reggae chart — remaining on the chart for over a year. 2018 saw them release their sixth studio album, Free Rein and in 2021 they released their most recent record, In The Moment. This will be Rebelution’s fourth time playing the Amphitheater and we’re just as excited as the first time (check out the old photo galleries). Rebelution’s live show is packed with infectious energy, top-notch production and of course plenty of good vibes.

For over four decades, Steel Pulse has been a dominant force in the roots reggae music scene. The Birmingham, England-bred band released their 1978 debut album Handsworth Revolution to critical acclaim. Their 1984 album, Earth Crisis was nominated for a Grammy for Best Reggae Recording. Steel Pulse made history in 1987 when they became the first non-Jamaican reggae band to win a Grammy for Best Reggae Album for their LP,  Babylon The Bandit. They went on to be nominated for Grammy’s for their albums VictimsRastafari Centennial, Rage and Fury, Living Legacy, African Holocaust, and most recently, their 2019 release Mass Manipulation. We were supposed to see Steel Pulse at the Amp in 2021 but unfortunately they couldn’t make it, so we’re pretty excited to get another opportunity!

DENM is an up and coming reggae fusion musician, songwriter & producer with noticeable influences from Sublime, Slightly Stoopid and Dirty Heads. His debut album, Slum Beach Denny, came out in 2021.

Whether you’re a fan of Rebelution, Steel Pulse or reggae in general, you have to make it to this show. With three fantastic acts, and tweener tunes from DJ Mackle, it’s almost like a mini summer festival. The good vibes will be alive and well!

About Rebelution

Founded in Isla Vista, CA, Rebelution has followed their instincts since the release of their breakout 2007 debut, Courage To Grow. In 2009, the band topped the Billboard Reggae Chart for the first of what would be five consecutive #1 records; and in 2017, they garnered a GRAMMY nomination for Best Reggae Album. Rebelution’s transcendent live performances, meanwhile, have earned the group sell-out headline shows everywhere from Red Rocks to The Greek Theatre, along with festival slots at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, ACL, Glastonbury, and more. Their latest album, In The Moment, is deliberate and wide-ranging, infusing the quartet’s soulful, exhilarating brand of modern reggae with addictive pop hooks, alt-rock grit, and hip-hop grooves. The performances here are bold and self-assured, and the production is equally ambitious, drawing on swirling reverb and trippy delay to create an immersive sonic universe that’s both futuristic and vintage.
