Ziggy Marley Announces Concert at KettleHouse Amphitheater with Lettuce

Get ready for a funky reggae party on the Blackfoot River! Jamaican reggae icon Ziggy Marley will bring The Circle of Peace Tour to KettleHouse Amphitheater on Saturday, July 13, 2024 with special guest, psychedelic funk band Lettuce.

Ziggy Marley, the eldest son of the legendary Bob and Rita Marley, has helped carry the torch of Jamaican reggae music since he led the family band, Melody Makers, in the 1980s. He’s an eight-time Grammy winner, Emmy winner, musician, producer, activist, and humanitarian who’s also fresh off producing Bob Marley: One Love, which is quickly becoming one of the best performing musical biopics of all time. We’re looking forward to hearing classic Bob Marley and The Wailers anthems like “Could You Be Loved” and “One Love” in addition to Ziggy’s original hits like “Beach in Hawaii” “True to Myself” and the tour namesake “Circle of Peace.”

Adding a unique twist to the show, Lettuce will kick off the evening with their signature blend of funk, jazz, and psychedelic grooves. Known for their improvisational prowess and high-energy performances, Lettuce never fails to bring the heat (photos). If you’re not familiar with Lettuce, check out these tracks “Phyllis,” “The Force,” and “Mt. Crushmore.”

Nestled amidst the majestic mountains and the serene waters of the Blackfoot River, the KettleHouse Amphitheater provides the perfect setting to take in the good vibrations this special musical pairing has to offer. This will be the first time that Ziggy Marley plays in Montana in nearly 8 years, so don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to see him and his awesome band live and direct! Get your tickets ASAP!

About Ziggy Marley

Ziggy Marley is an eight-time Grammy winner, Emmy winner, musician, producer, activist and humanitarian who has cultivated a legendary career for close to 40 years. The eldest son of Bob and Rita Marley, Ziggy has hewed his own path as a musical pioneer, infusing the reggae genre with funk, blues, rock and other elements through mindful song craft. Equal parts master storyteller and motivational guide, he deftly explores issues from environmental awareness to self empowerment, social injustice to political inequity, while returning again and again to the transformative power of love.

A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Ziggy first sat in on recording sessions with his father’s band, the trailblazing Bob Marley and the Wailers, when he was ten years old. This organically led him, joined by his brother Stephen and sisters Sharon and Cedella, to become the Melody Makers. Launching in 1985 with Play the Game Right, they won their first Grammy for their third album, Conscious Party (1988), an all-around success produced by Talking Heads ’Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth, which included the hit singles “Tomorrow People” and “Tumbling Down.” Continue reading…
