Artist Spotlight: Bumpin’ Uglies Share Bill with Passafire

The three-piece, Annapolis-based Bumpin’ Uglies will support prog-dub, reggae-rock headliner Passafire. Formed in 2008, this “East-coast Ska/Punk/Reggae” group has released two full-length LPs, a live show LP and two full length EPs.

Combining grinding chord changes and harmonies with the well-known ska and reggae pulse, their blended sound conflicts with traditional roots reggae, but will provide the ideal complement to the genre-defying headliner. Self-proclaimed “road warriors,” they have completed “8 national tours and dozens of regional tours” since their inception. In other words, they know what they are doing up on stage.

Additionally, they have collaborated with Passafire on their single “All In Stride” (see above) which means that spectators might be lucky enough to experience a little live collaboration, on top of this group’s well-seasoned live disposition.

The Bumpin’ Uglies stand as a good reason to show up early on June 8th in downtown Missoula. Tickets are still available online, and over the phone at 877-987-6487.  Better yet, swing through The Top Hat Lounge to pick up a ticket and try out the new additions to the Spring menu while you are there.
