More about Maclean and A River Runs Through It>>
“A River Runs Through It,” Robert Redford’s 1992 film based on Norman Maclean’s 1976 novella under the same name, both speak for early environmentalism in Montana. Pictures painted of pollution from various sources within the works provide for a juncture between an anniversary celebration and a celebration of preservation
The Blackfoot River, an inspiration for the novella, will stand as the locus of festivities; which will consist of numerous events around Missoula (see highlights below). Many authors that have walked in Maclean’s footsepts will also descend on the region for the anniversary.
