In 2017, Burke released his third full-length album entitled Along Alone Alright. The 10-track album roams from hokey country, to folk-rock, to gritty Americana. It was released on the artists own label, DreamCar Records. The label is a space to “mix folk and blues with a pinch of country twang, a dose of rock swagger and a whole lot of heart.”

Some stories in Burke’s songs are seemingly too heavy for someone who has only spent three decades on Earth. However, armed with classic inspiration (The Velvet Underground and Neil Young) and plenty of life experience, Burke manages to tout an old-timer’s variety of truth. The songwriter states…

“I love songs that tell a story that transcends right and wrong, black and white, heaven and hell,” he says. “By creating these pairs of opposites in our everyday lives, we limit how much of what’s going on around us really engages our senses.” –Jonny Burke

Along Alone Alright was recorded in Durham, NC with Ryan Johnson and Whit Wright from American Aquarium. It features acoustic ballads like “Funerals and Weddings” alongside “Stonesy, country-blues picker(s)” like “Sweeter Than You.” Regardless of the musical style, Burke’s poignant character voices pack a punch that will hit each listener differently.

Heavy-topics, gritty-humor and one-of-a-kind imagery make Jonny Burke an excellent accompaniment to James McMurtry’s  similar style of storytelling. Tickets are available online, over the phone at (877) 987-6487, or at The Top Hat’s box office in downtown Missoula. RSVP to the Facebook event page to join the conversation and receive low-ticket warnings.
