The artist released his fifth studio album in 2016 and it takes a step in a more acoustic direction. Entitled “Lovers and Leavers,” the poet explores various content: introspectively musing over a sparse soundscape.
The album was recorded live in five days, using just an acoustic guitar, a mix of bass, percussion, pianos and organs, and a touch of pedal steel. Talking about the work, Hayes states
“(It) isn’t funny or raucous. There are very few hoots and almost no hollers. But it is joyous, and it makes me smile… It’s my fifth record — a reflection of a specific time and place. It is quiet, like I wanted it to be. Like I wanted to be.”
Tickets will go on sale Friday, Aug 11th at 10AM MDT and will be available online, over the phone at (877) 987-6487, or at The Top Hat’s box office in downtown Missoula. RSVP to the Facebook event page to join the conversation and receive low-ticket warnings. More information on this event can be found here.
