Melodic Lilting Folk: John Mark Nelson will Support Charlie Parr

Logjam Presents is excited to announce Minneapolis-based, singer-songwriter & producer John Mark Nelson will support Charlie Parr at The Top Hat on December 16, 2017.

The past may be prologue, but for John Mark Nelson, the present is something else entirely: a gateway into a new era of life and the new sound that defines his most recent album, Four Days Away. Having released two critically lauded albums of melodic, lilting folk songs the ages of 17 and 19, Nelson is now set to take listeners on a leap forward into a new sonic landscape of propulsive rhythms and bright, complex instrumental arrangements.

“We first stumbled across John Mark Nelson when he was in high school a few years ago, and even at that time, his recordings carried a level of musicianship and attention to detail seldom seen – he may have been the youngest local artist to ever nab a slot in our heavy rotation. Over the past few years he’s grown to become an important part of the Minnesota music community and with I’m Not Afraid, has amped up his sound (literally), producing his most accessible album yet, a record that belongs on the radio and all our earbuds.”

“Young Minnesotan singer-songwriter John Mark Nelson has accomplished more in 21 years than some artists do in a lifetime.”
