For those seeking a more intimate club experience, The Top Hat is the venue for you.  Founded in 1952, the 550 capacity Top Hat allows concertgoers to get up close to their favorite artists.

Renovated in 2013, with subsequent improvements made to the artist facilities in 2016, the Top Hat provides artist and concertgoers a gritty club vibe with all the modern services of a new club.  From national touring artists to local performers to community events, the Top Hat has become the center of the Missoula cultural scene.

As part of the venue improvements made in 2013, the Top Hat added a full-service restaurant.  The Top Hat menu consists of house-made, locally-sourced unique items. More info.

Venue Layout

Dining & Concerts

 On days of ticketed events, The Top Hat Restaurant will generally be open to the public until the scheduled door time (door time can be found in the event page).

Ticket holders are welcome to come down anytime before doors and enjoy our restaurant up until an hour before show time (i.e. if the show starts at 9pm, dining service will typically conclude at 8pm). Please call (406) 728-9865 for specific dining schedule.

Some seated events will run dining services throughout the event. However, in some cases, the restaurant will be closed for sound check and sometimes for the remainder of the evening. Venue FAQ's

Is there an ATM?

Yes, ATM service is available inside of the venue.

Can I drink at The Top Hat?

You most certainly can! The Top Hat has a full liquor license and several specialty drinks to help you get your groove on. To purchase alcohol while attending an event, patrons must present a valid government-issued photo ID and be at least 21 years of age.

Please note: Anyone without proper ID will be treated as under 21 and will not be allowed to purchase, hold or consume alcohol. Any patron found purchasing, holding or consuming alcohol without a valid form ID will be immediately ejected from the venue. Any patron found providing drinks to minors will be immediately ejected and banned from the venue. No exceptions. The venue will also deny entry to anyone presenting fraudulent identification.

Is there a coat check at The Top Hat?

The Top Hat does NOT have a coat check. There are coat hooks located under the drink rail on the West wall of the dance floor. Please plan accordingly.

Please note: The Top Hat is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. If an item is lost inside of the venue, please see lost and found. 

What forms of payment are accepted within the venue?

The venue accepts cash, credit and debit cards. ATM service is also available. Checks are not accepted.

Advance tickets can be purchased online through the event page, in person at The Top Hat during normal business hours and by calling Ticketfly at (877) 987-6487.

Online tickets will be available until 5:00 PM on the day of the show. After which remaining tickets may be purchased at the bar (directions) or at the Box Office while supplies last.

Most concerts at The Top Hat are general admission, standing room only although some may be seated. Please see specific event page for details.

For ADA seating, please contact us as soon as possible so proper accommodations can be arranged.

Please note: We highly recommend that patrons only buy tickets directly from the venue or from the ticket outlets mentioned above. DO NOT BUY TICKETS FROM THIRD PARTY VENDORS. There is no guarantee that these tickets will be valid. We cannot reprint or refund you for an invalid ticket. Logjam Presents has no way of validating or replacing tickets that have been purchased through any third party vendors.

Will Call/Mobile/Print At Home

If a customer elects to have his or her tickets retrieved at will call, the physical tickets will only be available at the venue Box Office on the day of the show. In order to pick up the purchased tickets, the purchaser must present a valid photo ID and the credit card used for purchase.

If a customer elects to have his or her tickets available via mobile their ticket will be emailed to them upon purchase confirmation and available on their mobile device to be scanned at the door. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to make sure they have access to their mobile tickets and are able to open and present the scannable bar code to the door staff upon entry. If the patron is unable to present a valid ticket at the door they will not be permitted into the venue. No exceptions.

Box Office/Will Call

On nights of ticketed events, The Top Hat Box Office/Will Call window will open one hour prior to the schedule door time for the event (door times can be found in the specific event page).

Tickets may also be purchased at The Top Hat Bar during our normal business hours.

Please note: Will call tickets can only be picked up from the venue box office on the day of the show.

General Admission

The Top Hat is typically a general admission venue with limited fixed-bench seating. Limited fixed-bench seating is available along the floor and in the raised areas on a “first-come, first-served” basis. (Venue Layout)

All shows are general admission standing room only unless advertised as seated. Please see the event page for details.

There are some shows that may be completely seated or have more than one price level such as: V.I.P. raised area, reserved floor “Cabaret” seating, and/or general admission seating. Please see the event page for details.

Please note: You may not save seats in our General Admission section – they are “first-come, first-served”. Please make sure your entire party is present before finding a place to sit in GA.

If you need special assistance or accommodations please contact us as soon as possible (at least 3 business days prior to the event) so proper accommodations can be arranged. Ticketing FAQ's

Does my child need a ticket?

Children under the age of 2 are permitted without a ticket but must have adequate hearing protection. No strollers or large bags will be allowed into the venue. Please leave these items in your car. Bringing babies or small children to concerts or movies is generally not recommended.

Can my friend pick up my tickets?

If someone else is picking up your tickets please provide this person with the last 4 digits of the credit card used to purchase the tickets and a photocopy of your picture ID. For additional assistance, please contact Ticketfly Customer Service.

How can I earn free tickets?

Interested in getting involved and earning free tickets to shows? Please contact our media director for details.

Can I get a refund?

All sales are final. Unless a show is cancelled, there will be no refunds or exchanges. Purchased tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

If an event is cancelled, please seek your refund from the point of purchase. For more information on ticketing, please contact Ticketfly customer support.

Age Requirements

The Top Hat is an all ages venue. Events that run after 10pm may have age limits of 18+ or 21+ and will be noted on each specific event page. A valid photo ID is required for entry for all patrons appearing under the age of 40.

ALL AGES | For ALL AGES shows, patrons under 16 must be with a parent or guardian who must remain on premise throughout the show.

18+ | For shows that are 18+, we have a zero tolerance policy for underage drinking and illegal substances. If you are caught drinking underage, using illegal substances or presenting a fake ID, you will not be allowed back in the venue until you are 21. If you provide alcohol or illegal substances to a minor, you will be banned from the venue. Permanently.

Re-entry is permitted for all patrons 21 years or older. Please see our door staff on the way out to make sure you get a stamp or wristband before exiting to prevent re-entry issues. All bags are subject to search upon entry. A list of prohibited items can be found here.

There is no re-entry for patrons under 21. Patrons under 21 may exit to the back patio for fresh air but will not be granted re-entry if they step outside the gated area. No exceptions.

The Top Hat does not allow any professional photo, video or audio recording unless it has been pre-approved by the artist and the Top Hat. Flash photography is never allowed, as it disrupts the experience of artists and guests.

There is no smoking allowed inside of the venue per state law.

The Top Hat has a fresh air section located on the patio directly outside of the back door. Patrons under 21 may use this area but must stay within the gated area. Any patron under 21 that steps outside of the gated during an event will not be allowed back inside of the venue.

Electronic/Vapor smoking devices are not permitted to be used inside the venue.

Prohibited Items

For the safety of our guests, when entering the venue for a concert all patrons are subject to bag searches and screening, including but not limited to metal detector wands.

The following items are prohibited inside the venue. This list is subject to change on a show by show basis. The venue reserves the right to determine, on a case-by-case basis, which items are not permitted inside the venue.

  • Outside beverages
  • Outside food
  • Weapons or anything that may be construed as a weapon
  • Pets (except for service animals)
  • Laser pointers
  • Glow sticks
  • GoPros
  • Selfie sticks
  • Tablets (IE: iPad, Kindle, etc.)
  • Large bags, purses or backpacks larger than 13″x13″
  • Bad attitudes
