They previously performed at KettleHouse Amphitheater in July of 2018 as part of a talent packed co-bill with The Wood Brothers. Check out the photo gallery here.
The band formed in 1988 for an iconic live performance on the PBS TV series The Lonesome Pine Specials. The original lineup consisted of banjoist Béla Fleck, bassist Victor Wooten, percussionist Roy “Future Man” Wooten, and keyboardist/harmonica player Howard Levy.
From 1988 to 1992, they released three successful albums, their self titled debut in 1990, Flight of the Cosmic Hippo in 1991, and UFO Tofu in 1992. Shortly after, Howard Levy would leave the band to pursue other musical endeavors. In 2011 the band reunited for their most recent album, Rocket Science, but rarely toured up until the past couple years. They’ve been nominated for 9 Grammys and have won 4.
