Spark! Plans First Friday Art Showcase at the Wilma

Missoula community arts organization, SPARK!, will present an art showcase at the Wilma featuring local elementary students’ pieces on First Friday, June 7, 2019.

Artist, Tabitha Beard/B. Martinez, worked with MCPS students through a SPARK! Arts residency learning social studies curriculum of Missoula Valley history through visual arts.

Students learned about present Missoula and its economic growth through arts, entertainment, and recreation, which resulted in the pieces featured. The art pieces are skewed 3-D perspective drawings of The Wilma with Mount Jumbo in the background, and the river in the foreground. More than 70 pieces will be shown! You can see a few examples below.

In April, the Wilma showcased art from local students at Paxon Elementary who made life sized animal depictions.

Logjam Presents is once again excited to host a FREE event that features local students’ art. More details here.
