Keep It Pristine: The 16th Annual Blackfoot River Clean Up

We’ve all seen it. The wrapper along the shore. The can floating down the river. Now’s the time we can band together to clean up the trash that ends up in our rivers. This year, we’re inviting you all to participate in the 16th Annual Blackfoot River Clean Up on Saturday, July 27, 2019.

For the past 15 years Blackfoot Home & Community Club, along with Bureau of Land Management and Fish Wildlife and Parks has collected thousands of pounds of debris and trash to help keep the river clean. The Blackfoot River is a pristine crown jewel of Western Montana Rivers and is a favorite for floaters, kayakers, rafters and fisherman.

It’s also home to the KettleHouse Amphitheater, so Logjam wants to make sure that we’re doing our part to help keep the river in the best condition possible. Logjam and the BHCC are asking you to put together a team of volunteers to help cleanup the Blackfoot River.

Here are the details:

When: Saturday, July 27, 2019. Divers, snorklers, and rafters arrive at 8am. Walkers, waders, and floaters arrive at 9am.
Where: Johnsrud park in Potomac, MT between mile marker 11 & 12
How to register: Get your team together and contact BHCC President, Janelle Schiller, by email at blackfoothcc@gmail.com or phone at 406-244-6156 to let her know how many people are on your team.
Free barbecue: After your team is finished, you’re welcome to enjoy the free barbecue provided by BHCC that runs from 11:30am-4pm!

Logjam will have a small team of volunteers helping to clean up as much trash as we can before we have to head out to Trampled by Turtles at the Amp, but much more help is needed. Please get your team together and register today!
