Drive-By Truckers have always been outspoken, telling a distinctly American story via craft, character, and concept, all backed by sonic ambition and social conscience. Founded in 1996 by singer/songwriter/guitarists Mike Cooley and Patterson Hood, the band have long held a progressive fire.
Drive-By Truckers are kicking off the new election year with their 12th studio album, The Unraveling, their first new album in 3 1/2 years (the longest space between new DBT albums ever). Those years were among the most tumultuous this country has ever seen and the duality between the generally positive state of affairs within the band while watching so many things they cared about being decimated and destroyed all around them informed the writing of this album to the core. Pitchfork wrote about the album saying, “The Unraveling takes meticulous care with each mix.”
Tickets go on sale Friday, March 13 at 10am at the Top Hat, online or by phone at 1 (800) 514-3849. All tickets are general admission standing room only. All ages are welcome. Additional ticketing and venue information can be found here.
