California reggae mainstay, Slightly Stoopid, will kick off their Summer Traditions tour at KettleHouse Amphitheater on July 7, 2022 with support from Pepper, Common Kings, and Fortunate Youth.

The Summer Traditions 2022 tour is a nod to the summer outdoor amphitheater circuit that the band has performed annually since 2007, but hasn’t taken place for the last two years due to the pandemic. Summer Traditions 2022 is sure to remain an annual rite of passage for the group’s diehard fanbase known as “Stoopidheads”, as they travel the states, sharing good times with one another through music and community, as they have done since the band’s inception 25 years ago.

If you’ve been to a Stoopid concert, you know they put on an awesome live show… one that could stand alone. With the added help of tourmates Pepper, Common Kings and Fortunate Youth, fans should prepare for an unforgettable, mini-festival type of evening on the Blackfoot River! Check out these old photos from Stoopid’s last two shows in Montana to get a glimpse of the good times ahead in 2022.

“We’re super pumped to hit the road this summer and finally bring the Summer Traditions Tour around the country!! Always a blessing to share the stage with our good friends Pepper, Common Kings, and Fortunate Youth. We’re looking forward to some epic collaborations on stage and are stoked to keep our summertime tradition going! See you soon Party People!” – Miles Doughty, Band Cofounder

About Slightly Stoopid

The story of Slightly Stoopid, at its core, is one of brotherhood.  It’s the story of Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald, two musicians determined to succeed on their own terms, creating a multi-genre fusion of rock, reggae and blues with hip-hop, funk, American folk, metal, and punk.  It’s the story of a duo that has not just survived, but thrived, as “brothers from other mothers”- keeping true to their authenticity, throughout two decades of relentless touring, and evolved songwriting.  The duo has repeatedly created lasting artistic statements despite a music industry that too often prioritizes style over substance.

Doughty and McDonald grew up together in the Ocean Beach neighborhood of San Diego.  By age 11 they had their first acoustic guitars, bonding over Metallica, Megadeth, and Mötley Crüe.  In the mid-1990s they attended Point Loma High School and formed Slightly Stoopid, playing their first gig- a punky and subversive lunchtime set on the quad- that earned them a trip to the vice-principal’s office and a reprimand for the trio’s explicit lyrics.
