Grab your tie-dye and dancing shoes! Supergroup and Grateful Dead tribute band Joe Russo’s Almost Dead have confirmed a headlining performance at the KettleHouse Amphitheater on July 21, 2022.

Drummer, Joe Russo, formed the band in 2013 with Ween bassist Dave Dreiwitz, keyboardist Marco Benevento, guitarist/vocalist Scott Metzger, and American Babies’ guitarist/vocalist Tom Hamilton. They’ve played at several high profile music festivals including Electric Forest, All Good Festival, Mountain Jam, High Sierra Music Festival and our very own KettleHouse Amphitheater back in 2019. In 2018, JRAD played at the Peach Festival and Rolling Stone called their performance the “Best Scene-Stealer”, saying that, “JRAD takes improvisational jam rock to the nth degree.”

Scott Bernstein of Jambase describes the band, saying:

“Not only does this quintet play tight and vicious versions of some of the most complex songs in the Grateful Dead’s repertoire, but they play them with a rawness & energy absent from the stage since the ‘Live’ Dead era. Metzger is a criminally underrated guitarist who has a chameleon-like ability to alter his sound to compliment any situation. Finally, add Hamilton, whose voice and biting leads help push this ensemble over the top.”
