Protect Our Rivers at the 19th Annual Blackfoot River Cleanup

We’ve all seen it. The wrapper sitting along the shore. The can floating down the river. Someone’s abandoned sandal laying on the riverbank. Now’s the time we can join together to clean up the trash that ends up in our majestic rivers. This year, we’re inviting you all to participate in the 19th Annual Blackfoot River Cleanup on Saturday, July 30, 2022.

For the past 18 years, Blackfoot Home & Community Club, the Bureau of Land Management and Fish Wildlife and Parks, have collected thousands of pounds of debris and trash to help keep the river clean. The Blackfoot River is a pristine crown jewel of Western Montana and is a favorite destination for floaters, kayakers, rafters and fisherman.

It’s also home to the KettleHouse Amphitheater, so Logjam wants to make sure that we’re doing our part to help keep the river in the best condition possible. Logjam and the BHCC are asking you to put together a group of volunteers to help cleanup the Blackfoot River.

HERE ARE THE DETAILS:

When: Saturday, July 30, 2022. Divers, snorkelers, and rafters arrive at 8am. Walkers, waders, and floaters arrive at 9am.
Where: Johnsrud park in Potomac, MT between mile marker 11 & 12
Do you need to register? NO. In the past you’ve had to, but this year the BHCC is making it super simple. Just show up, clean up, and enjoy the outdoors while you’re at it!
Thank You Snacks: After you’re finished cleaning up, help yourself to some grab and go snacks generously provided by BHCC until 4pm.

A lot folks wonder how they can have a positive impact on the environment. There are plenty of noble efforts to get involved with, but one of the best and most realistic ways to make a difference is simply picking up the garbage that ends up in nature. Let’s make a difference on July 30th, 2022, and help keep our Blackfoot River trash free!
